Dundee City Council

Dundee City Council Education Department is proud to support Dundee Science Festival. Our Pupils are fascinated by new discoveries and technologies. Through Curriculum for Excellence in our schools, children and young people will develop a secure understanding of important scientific concepts and a lifelong interest in science and its applications. The festival offers the opportunity to engage with a range of partners who are involved in cutting edge, world-leading work - inspiring children and young people to develop their interest and aspiration in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

Research Councils UK (RCUK)

Research Councils UK (RCUK) is the strategic partnership of the UK's seven Research Councils who annually invest around �3 billion in research. We are committed to engaging the public with excellent research and are delighted to be partnering Dundee Science Festival to give researchers the opportunity to engage with new audiences. Supported by the RCUK Public Engagement with Research programme, the Research Councils UK Digital Economy Theme has worked with Dundee Science Festival to produce a number of inspiring activities and events across the city of Dundee.

The RCUK Digital Economy Theme supports research into the impact of rapidly changing digital technologies on community life, cultural experiences, the future of society, and the economy.

The Gannochy Trust

�The Gannochy Trust is delighted to support Dundee Science Festival. The Trust was founded in 1937 by A K Bell, who placed a great emphasis on youth development. The Trust continues his philanthropic work and supports many projects across Scotland which inspire Young People, especially those which encourage their participation in creative activities through educational projects.

We see the exciting and varied programme of Dundee Science Festival achieving this aim by stimulating young minds and encouraging them to want to find out more.

EventScotland

EventScotland, the national events agency is proud to be supporting Dundee Science Festival through the National Funding Programme. The event is a wonderful example of successful working partnerships, from local authority support through to Higher Education Institutions. As a funding partner for the event we have supported the expansion of the management team and advertising plans to help increase audiences for 2011.

University of Dundee

The University of Dundee is one of the UK�s leading universities with an international reputation for excellence across a range of disciplines including science, medicine, engineering and art. The University has around 17,000 students, 3,000 staff, and an annual turnover in excess of �200m.

We view Dundee Science Festival as a fantastic opportunity for our researchers and local people to come together to discuss the latest scientific issues and the University�s ground-breaking research.

Skills Development Scotland

Skills Development Scotland was created in 2008 � a merger of four organisations: Careers Scotland; learndirect Scotland and the skills intervention arms of Scottish Enterprise and Highlands and Islands Enterprise. It works nationally and locally to create a more skilled and economically competitive Scotland by helping individuals realise their full potential, supporting employers to be more successful through skills development, and working with partners to enhance Scotland�s sustainable economic development.
