A Changing Ocean in a Changing Climate

Description: It’s all over the news, students have been striking in the streets, governments are holding emergency meetings – climate change is something we can no longer ignore.

Whilst there’s a lot of focus on the impacts we can see around us such as more severe weather, less attention is given to the changes occurring in the marine environment.

Did you know, the ocean absorbs about 30% of the carbon dioxide that is released in the atmosphere?

This has led to ocean acidification – a change in the chemistry of the saltwater.
