Welcome to our first competition of the Dundee Science Festival 2020!
Your Competition Challenge
We would like to you build a Rube Goldberg Machine and send us your video!
What is a Rube Goldberg machine? Well, a Rube Goldberg machine, is named after American cartoonist Rube Goldberg, is a machine intentionally designed to perform a simple task in an indirect and overly complicated way. Watch our YouTube video to see what we mean.

The Prize
Enter our Dundee Science Festival Competition and win six free tickets to visit the Dundee Science Centre during the Dundee Science Festival (14-29 November 2020).
Competition Rules
- Tickets to be used together and can only be used once.
- Includes access to our exhibition space on the Ground Floor, Medical Marvel exhibition and take part in our Maker’s Lab.
- Please be aware that we are undergoing construction and not all our Ground Floor exhibits will be opened to the public.
- Please be aware we are operating with timed entry and visits due to COVID-19, we will require you to select a time to arrive.
- Tickets are valid over the Dundee Science Festival weekends, when we are due to re-open, however, we are continually monitoring the situation and must adhere to safety guidelines for our staff and visitors. If the centre is required to close again, you will get your tickets for next re-opening dates.
- Social distancing will be in operation in centre.
